Twitter is not caving yet to users’ demands for an “edit” button, but they offered something close: an “undo tweet” option, as part of the company’s new subscription service, Twitter Blue. Twitter announced the service today and is currently rolling out in Australia and Canada.

Twitter Blue will give users up to a 30-second window before posting to preview a tweet in case they notice a typo or reconsider sending out the tweet. The basic service will continue to be free, but the undo tweet function is not the only feature included in the subscription service.

Twitter has been relying on advertising revenue since it was founded 15 years ago, but the ad market has become increasingly competitive which made the company seek to make money directly from users. The service has long been in the works since CEO Jack Dorsey revealed in July 2020 that the company was looking into subscriptions as a new line of revenue.

Those who sign up for a Twitter Blue will get a set of other features and perks that include Bookmarked Folders to better organize bookmarked content so when you need it, you can find it easily and efficiently.

The other feature is Reader Mode which will turn long Twitter threads into easy-to-read text so users can read all the content seamlessly. Subscribers will also get access to perks, such as customizable app icons for their device’s home screen and color themes for their Twitter app, and will have access to dedicated subscription customer support.
