Netflix the streaming giant officially launched its services in Kenya a few months ago and part of the launch strategy was bringing a free plan that everyone can access on their android phone. The free plan had its limitation as we explained in a previous article. One of them was the option to download videos for later streaming when offline which was available on paid plans.
It seems they are working hard to make the platform inclusive. So far from the latest update, Netflix’s free plan now supports downloads. Still, the video resolution is capped at SD quality but that is understandable if you are not paying anything to stream some favorite shows and movies. Also introduced are smart downloads which allow you to set up the amount of phone storage Netflix can use and they will automatically download some shows and movies for you when on WiFi.
