Elon Musk officially bought Twitter and for the past few days, the trending info was on how the company was seen to implement a package that was to see verified accounts pay $20 to stay verified.

While the news was not verified, today in a tweet Elon Musk announced a subscription tier more like Twitter blue which will see users pay $8 per month to get verified. The details suggest one can pay to get verified on the platform. This is a bit different from the currently in-place Twitter blue.

As per Elon, the price will be adjusted by country proportionate to purchasing power utility. The package will also include priority in replies, mentions, and searches, the ability to post long videos and audio, fewer ads on your profile, and a paywall bypass for publishers willing to work with Twitter.

Earlier details had suggested that any verified account that would not have paid up the amount would see the blue checkmark removed after 90 days.
