The Sony Xperia 1 IV Offers True Optical Zoom in a Smartphone

Sony announced their 2022 flagship phone, the Xperia 1 IV. It’s a follow up to the 1 III, unveiled a year ago. Its features include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, seamless optical zoom and better tools for both audio and video recording. The design though is almost identical to the Xperia 1 III. That means a tall, narrow design with a flat screen, and bigger bezels both above and below. The display is also the same as its predecessor: 6.5-inch 4K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and it supports HDR, and has a wide 21:9 aspect ratio. Where the screen differs is in terms of brightness, as the Sony Xperia 1 IV is 50% brighter than the Xperia 1 III.
Sony has also added features for gaming. A 240Hz touch sampling rate, motion blur reduction, an audio equalizer, and voice chat optimization. Plus there are tools for game streaming, like 120Hz recording, an audio mixer and a voice changer.
